According to those with knowledge of the specifics, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the Union council of ministers on Wednesday to assess progress toward the upcoming G20 summit and give them instructions to follow protocol. The PM also urged his colleagues to combat attacks on religious beliefs and falsehoods.

According to the aforementioned individuals, the PM Modi advised his ministerial colleagues not to participate in the heated discussion surrounding the idea of renaming India as Bharat. President Droupadi Murmu’s decision to send out the invitation to the G20 dinner as “President of Bharat” rather than “President of India” sparked the controversy on Tuesday and sparked irrational rumors that such a move might be on the legislative agenda for the upcoming special session of Parliament.
