Mahli Devi, the 30-year-old wife of Sujit Manjhi, a resident of Hridan Bigha of Telmar police station area of Harnaut block, committed suicide. She had seen her husband’s picture with a dancer on a mobile phone. She was hurt because of this. The police have arrested the deceased’s husband and father-in-law in the case.
When the husband came home, the wife took his mobile. Since the phone was unlocked, she saw all the photos. After seeing the photos, the woman Mahli Devi got angry with him. After seeing the photos, there was a fight between the husband and wife.
She committed suicide when no one was at home. Mahli Devi She was taken to a doctor but she had already died. Sujit took his wife’s body to Gyaspur Ganga Ghat in the Salempur Thana (Patna) area where preparations were being made for the cremation.
Meanwhile, someone informed the local police station. Police reached the spot and recovered the body. Telmar SHO Shatrughan Prasad Shah said that prima facie the case appears to be a suicide. The woman has two small children. Husband Sujit Manjhi and father-in-law Arvind Manjhi have been arrested.
Here, an FIR has been lodged for the rape of a teenage girl in a hotel in Chandi police station area of Nalanda district. Initial investigation has revealed that the matter reached the police station because of a dispute over dowry at the time of marriage. In this case, the father of the victim girl has accused a youth resident of Karken in the Dhanbad district of Jharkhand.
