According to accounts, the pair visited the shrine for almost an hour. Sunak entered the shrine barefoot, as is customary for Hindus to do while visiting a temple, according to Jyotindra Dave, director of the Akshardham temple. The director remarked, “After meeting him, we felt that he is extremely close to Sanatana.

“Rishi Sunak had gotten in touch with us and asked to visit the temple for darshan. We were asked what time he could come by. Dave remarked, “We let him know he may come whenever he wants. “He conducted aarti in the temple, conversed with the saints there, and also gave flowers to each idol there. The pooja was also conducted by his wife, the director informed India Today.

“We took him on a tour and presented him with a replica of the temple. He relished every second spent here. His wife was overjoyed as well. He promised to keep returning whenever I had the chance, the director continued.

The security measures surrounding the shrine were strengthened in advance of their arrival, and additional police officers were stationed there. Pickets, according to a senior police official, have been set up nearby. According to a statement he released on Saturday, a checking procedure is already in place in the city as a result of the ongoing G20 Summit.

“I’m a proud Hindu, and I was brought up that way. I am in that way. On the day he and his wife Akshata Murty landed in Delhi, he told the news agency ANI, “Hopefully I can visit a Mandir while I’m here for the next few of days.
