PM Modi explains the significance of the Konark Wheel to US President Biden

PM Modi greeted the US President and then spoke with him about the Konark Wheel, which inscribed on the walls of the Sun Temple in Odisha. The temple shaped like a chariot with 24 of these wheels.

The Konark Wheel constructed in the 13th century under the rule of King Narasimhadeva. The wheel with 24 spokes, which also serves as India’s national emblem, represents the country’s ancient knowledge, highly developed civilization, and superior agricultural practices.

The Konark Wheel’s rotational motion represents time, progress, and never-ending change.

It represents the democratic wheel and embodies the will to advance society as well as the tenacity of democratic principles.

Among the first few leaders to arrive at the Bharat Mandapam location were World Health Organization director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, IMF managing director Kristalina Georgieva, UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres, and World Bank president Ajay Banga.
