Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Criticizes BJP Over Caste-Based Census Data Release

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday. Over the release of data from the state’s caste-based census. Claiming that the saffron party ‘has no idea’ about the developments and has done nothing for Hindus, Muslims, scheduled castes, and tribes. He enquired, “What idea do they (the BJP) have about all this?”

“What the BJP is doing is very irrelevant. What done to help Muslims or Hindus? Have they accomplished for the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, please? While responding to queries about the state’s census. He had remarked, “Have they given any acknowledgment to the really backward class?

The BJP and its allies called the study a “eye-wash” and a “divisive tactic” and accused the Nitish Kumar administration of doing little for the underprivileged.

According to the Bihar Caste Census, 84% of the state’s population is OBC, SC, or ST. Only 3 of the Central Government’s 90 secretaries, who manage 5% of India’s budget, are OBC.
