In response to US President Joe Biden’s recent news conference during his brief visit to Vietnam following his trip to India for the G20 Summit, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh poked fun at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There, Biden discussed upholding human rights, the function of civil society, and the freedom of the press.

Biden not permitted to Speak?

Ramesh poked fun at this by repeating that the US President’s staff supposedly wasn’t permitted to speak with the media or field inquiries following the one-on-one meeting with PM Modi.

“Mr. Modi stating to Mr. Biden — “Na news Conference karunga, Na karne doonga (won’t conduct a news conference, won’t allow you hold one) has had no influence,” the Congress MP posted on X (previously Twitter).

Earlier, during a news conference in Vietnam, Biden provided an update on the private encounter he had with PM Modi. He stated, “I brought up with Mr. Modi the significance of respecting human rights, the critical function of civil society, the value of a free press, and establishing a strong and successful country. We completed a significant amount of work.

Regarding respecting human rights, the function of civil society, and the free press, Ramesh noted that Mr. Biden was stating the same things in Vietnam that he had spoken to Mr. Modi directly in India.

The Speaker of the Congress had previously made similar assertions and said that “despite multiple requests,” Biden’s staff was denied permission to conduct a press conference.”Despite several requests, according to President Biden’s staff, India has not let reporters to question him and Prime Minister Modi following their bilateral meeting. On September 11, President Biden will now answer questions from the media that is traveling with him in Vietnam. Not at all unexpected. He commented on X, “This is how democracy done Modi-style.
