The BJP questioned the “silence” of Opposition MPs on Tuesday amid regular criticism of the faith by DMK leaders. Accusing the INDIA alliance of having a secret objective to undermine Sanatan Dharma for its vote-bank tactics.

In a new attack on the opposition over the matter. BJP leader and former union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad singled out Sonia Gandhi’s silence, saying the longer she keeps quiet. The more it will be obvious that rejecting Sanatana Dharma is a key component of the INDIA bloc’s common minimum program.
Mr. Prasad seized on a recent DMK politician’s assertion that the opposition to Sanatana Dharma is part of the group’s objective and asserted that what the Tamil Nadu man said was accurate.
“The BJP will urge this alliance to come out with a categorical resolution that we completely disassociate ourselves (from the DMK’s criticism). This is not our agenda,” he stated at a press briefing.
The BJP spokesman pointed out that temples honoring respected members of lower castes like Shabir, Kewat, and saint Ravidas had constructed in response to the DMK’s attempt to link Sanatana Dharma with the practice of caste discrimination among Hindus in order to defend its criticism.
