District Congress Committee demanded the resignation of Madhya Pradesh’s Tribal Affairs Minister Vijay Shah for making baseless comments on Operation Sindoor’s heroine Sofia Qureshi. A procession was taken out in Govardhan. A demonstration was held by taking out a procession at the Tehsil gate.
They raised slogans like Vijay Shah resigns, arrest Shah, dismiss Vijay Shah etc. They reached the tehsil gate while raising slogans on the streets. District president Mukesh Dhangar said that Vijay Shah’s indecent language lowers the morale of the country, the army and women. Yogendra Singh, Banwari Chaudhary, Deepak Kaushik, Madhav Faujdar, Padam Singh, Anil, Arman, Dharmendra, Ajit Saini, Manvendra Pandav were present.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court registered an FIR against Madhya Pradesh’s tribal affairs minister in the case of an objectionable statement against Colonel Sofia Qureshi. Even after the High Court’s order was implemented, Vijay Shah is still in the minister’s post. The court had given instructions to register a case against Minister Shah, after which an FIR was filed against him in Mhow.
Even after the case was registered, Vijay Shah’s is still holding the ministerial post. It is being told that he has refused to resign. The party had asked him to resign on Wednesday itself. BJP had also instructed him to remain calm and exercise restraint for the time being keeping in mind his political future in the party, but Vijay Shah was adamant. BJP’s National President, National Organization Minister are also continuously discussing this issue with the state leaders.
