Tejas box office collection day 1: Kangana Ranaut’s much-anticipated aerial action film received a lukewarm response at the box office on its opening day. The film Tejas box office collected ₹1.25 crore on its first day of release as per early estimates shared by Sacnilk.com. The portal also reports the film had only 6.83 percent occupancy on Friday. Tejas revolves around the extraordinary journey of Tejas Gill, an Air Force pilot, and aims to inspire and instill a deep sense of pride in every Indian, showing how Indian Air Force pilots work tirelessly to defend our nation, confronting numerous challenges along the way. She goes on a mission to rescue hostages from terrorists in the film.

The three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis – contributed to Rs 85 lakh, which accounts for 60 percent of the total business of Tejas on day one, reported Bollywood Hungama. The overall Hindi occupancy of the film was 6.83%, which isn’t a good sign. With an opening like this, it becomes crucial for Tejas to pick up the pace over the weekend if it wants to stay airborne.

According to Sacnilk.com, the film had an overall occupancy of around 7.25% in Mumbai. Although the movie had low advance bookings and poor occupancy for its morning shows, the numbers reportedly improved throughout the day.

Tejas has already performed better than Kangana’s previous film, ‘Dhaakad,’ which opened to just Rs50 lakh net. It is essential to note that this is a female-led film with a lot riding on Kangana’s star power.
