Ravindra Jadeja’s match-winning performance in the IPL 2023 final
Ravindra Jadeja’s Last-Ball Six Leads CSK to 5th IPL
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won their fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) title on May 29, 2023, after beating Gujarat Titans (GT) in a thrilling final. CSK needed 10 runs off the last two balls to win, and it was all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who stepped up to the plate and delivered.
SIX LAST SECOND BALL JADEJA IPL
Jadeja smashed the second last ball of the over for a six, and then hit the last ball for a four to lead CSK to a five-wicket victory. It was a stunning finish to a match that had been full of twists and turns.
RAYDU AND JADEJA 42 BALL 50 SCORE
CSK had won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to a slow start, but Devon Conway and Ambati Rayudu put on a 70-run partnership for the third wicket to get them back on track. Conway was dismissed for 45, but Rayudu continued to bat well and scored 50 off 42 balls.
IPL CSK 2023 WINNING
CSK reached 161 for 5 in their 20 overs, which was a competitive total. GT’s chase got off to a good start, with Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya putting on 53 runs for the first wicket. However, both batsmen were dismissed in quick succession, and GT were in trouble at 74 for 2.
2023 WINNER IPL
David Miller and Rahul Tewatia then came together and put on a 50-run partnership for the third wicket to give GT a chance of winning. However, Miller was dismissed for 34, and Tewatia was run out for 35, leaving GT needing 10 runs off the last two balls.
That’s when Jadeja came to the crease and delivered the goods. He smashed the second last ball for a six,
and then hit the last ball for a four to seal the victory for CSK.
IPL JADEJA 39 RUN OF 28 BALLS
Jadeja was named the player of the match for his match-winning performance. He scored 39 runs off 28 balls, and also took two wickets. His performance was a fitting end to a brilliant season for the all-rounder.
MS DHONI TEAM CSK
CSK’s victory was their fifth IPL title, and it came after a three-year drought. They are now the most successful team in the history of the tournament. The win was also a fitting tribute to their former captain MS Dhoni, who retired from international cricket earlier this year.
Dhoni was at the non-striker’s end when Jadeja hit the winning runs, and he was seen celebrating with his teammates. It was a fitting end to a brilliant career for one of the greatest cricketers of all time.
