PM Modi Reaffirms India’s Support for Israel Amidst Ongoing Conflict

In his Tuesday conversation with his Israeli counterpart, PM Modi reaffirmed India’s support for the latter nation. Following an unexpected onslaught by Hamas radicals, war broke out in the area last week. Over the last four days of fighting, thousands of people have been hurt and approximately 2,000 lives have been lost.

“I appreciate PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s call and his update on the current situation. India’s populace heartily supports Israel in this trying time. India vehemently and categorically rejects terrorism in all of its manifestations, the president tweeted.

After a surprise strike on Saturday morning, Israel proclaimed “war” against the radical Hamas organization. Since the Palestinian group’s onslaught began, over 2,616 persons have been injured, the majority of them innocent Israelis, killing at least 900 of them. As the Israeli Air Force launched hundreds of tons of bombs on tens of thousands of targets, entire areas in Gaza were leveled. According to local media accounts, Israeli airstrikes killed an estimated 700 Gaza people.

According to Israel’s military spokesperson Richard Hecht, roughly 1,500 dead of Hamas fighters have been discovered in Israel near the Gaza Strip. After three days of warfare, the Israel Defense Forces have finally reclaimed control of the border with the Gaza Strip. According to officials, the army had “nearly completed” evacuating all the nearby settlements.

For its “Swords of Iron” operation, the Israeli army has activated 300,000 reservists and massed tanks and other heavy armor both close to Gaza and on the country’s northern border with Lebanon. Israel has declared war. We were against this war. It was imposed upon us in the cruelest manner possible. Israel will nonetheless win this conflict even if it wasn’t their doing.
