Bhopal A 63-year-old man attacked allegedly attacked his daughter-in-law and her year-old niece with a sword while they were asleep past midnight on Tuesday. The minor girl sustained a severe injury on her neck while her four. Acting on information, Kolar police reached the spot and registered a case on charge of attempt to murder against the accused. The accused told police that he enraged his daughter-in-law sold his shanty and did not even provide him proper food so he attacked her investigation officer.

Investigation officer SI Manoj Rawat said that the complainant Geeta Rawat, wife of Manoj Rawat, a resident of Banskhedi in Kolar, is a homemaker while her husband works in a private job in Gujarat. Geeta Resdies is here with her children and the accused father-in-law Shankar. Her brother resides in the adjoining shanty. Frequent disputes took place between Geeta and Shankar over domestic issues.
SI Rawat said that Geeta’s elder sister’s daughter Indira Gautam had come to Bhopal from Indore around a fortnight back to visit her aunt’s house during summer vacation. The family had dinner on Monday night and went to sleep, past midnight around 2 am. Shankar woke up and attacked Indira with a sword. He traded the first blow on her neck due to which she sustained severe injury.
