Madhya Pradesh had the highest rate of crime against Scheduled Caste (SC) people in 2021. The most recent year for which National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data is available. The data shows that the state had the highest crime rate against SCs in 2020 and the second highest in 2019 (after Rajasthan).
However, the prosecution rate in Madhya Pradesh was higher than in most Indian states. Suggesting that while the state police may not have prevented such crimes, they at least prosecuted them more effectively than in most other states.Â

Understanding Crime Rates Against SCs
