Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Meeting

A cabinet meeting under the aegis of MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was held on Wednesday. The cabinet took different decisions in the discussion. Farmers were on the top list. The government will spend 18 thousand crores in 2023-24 to provide cheap electricity to farmers. This amount would be given as a grant to electricity distribution companies.

Farmers

Banana Farmers will get double crop damage relief when natural disasters hit their crops. The government has decided to take an electricity bill of 750 Rs for 10 Horsepower(hp) and 1500 Rs for more than 10 Horsepower(hp) of permanent pump connection consumers. This will reduce the farming cost for farmers.  A grant of 12,686 Rs will be given to electricity companies to recover their losses.

Banana Plantations in Burhanpur and other districts were badly damaged due to thunderstorms. The Government had revised the relief amount per hectare. Now, a maximum of 6 lakhs Rs will be given instead of 3 lakhs Rs. Grants of 2 lakhs Rs on more than 50% damage, 54 thousand on 33% to 50% damage, and 30 thousand Rs on 25% to 33% damage per hectare will be given.

Deendayal Rasoi Yojana

In the cabinet meeting, the Urban Development and Housing department proposed to add “Mama ki thali” as a subtitle. CM agreed to add it below Deendayal Rasoi. This request was already presented in a previous cabinet meeting. CM had rejected the request to change the name of “Deendayal Rasoi” to “Mama ki thali”.

After the cabinet meeting, Home Minister Narottam Mishra said, the yojana will be extended to the municipality level. In this, Food would be provided in 5 Rs in place of 10 Rs. Later, CM feels awkward with the changes. So, he cancelled the addition of “Mama ki Thali” as a subtitle.

Medical College

In the meeting, 6 districts including Khargone, Dhar, Bhind, Balaghat, Tikamgarh and Sidhi got primary permission for a medical college having 100 MBBS seats. This decision will land in a total of 30 medical colleges in MP.

Other Decisions

MP police health security scheme will continue. 1,097 Hectare land of Bhoj wetland would be transferred to Paryavan Vaniki Vanmandal Bhopal. 1,700 crore Rs will be given to civil bodies under Chief Minister Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme. 1,335 crore Rs would be allocated to develop CM Rise School.
