Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan movie premiered today at 5 AM (yes, you read that right), smashing records even before its release. Now, it seems 2023 belongs to SRK as, after Pathaan minted ₹1,000 crore, Jawan looks all set to top Khan’s all-time-blockbuster. The first reviews and reactions are out.

The excitement around Jawan’s release is much evident from the advance ticket sales numbers. The film has sold almost 4 lakh tickets at the national cinema chains and a total of 9,66,713 tickets have been bought by movie buffs, bringing the film’s earnings to Rs 26.45 crore.

Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta gave Jawan 3.5 stars and wrote in Jawan’s movie review, “SRK delivers a massy entertainer with strong political messaging. After a kinetic and zingy first hour, Shah Rukh Khan’s film slumps into bits, especially when it dives into the part housed in a women’s prison. But as a whole, the movie is an unabashed mass entertainer with strong political messaging, making it a film which is very much of the moment.”
Meanwhile, Jawan also features Deepika Padukone in a special appearance. The film’s first show kicked off at 6 a.m. amid massive celebrations. Film trade expert Taran Adarsh told News18 Showsha that Jawan is likely to record opening day box office collection of Rs 85 crore in all languages.
