Gaganyaan mission

The Gaganyaan TVD1 mission is a crucial part of India’s ambitious space program, aiming to send three crew members into a 400-kilometer orbit for three days. The mission represents India’s aspiration to join the elite league of nations capable of launching crewed spacecraft.

The success of this test flight would set the stage for the remaining qualification tests and uncrewed missions, leading to the first program, ISRO said. The crew module and the crew escape system are the payloads in the rocket. The crew module is a habitable space with an Earth-like environment in space for the crew. It consists of a pressurized metallic ‘inner structure’ and an unpressurized ‘external structure’ with ‘thermal protection systems’.
