  2. May Raise Cholesterol to Dangerous Levels – The worst side effect of consuming coconut oil is that it can raise cholesterol levels to dangerous levels. According to reports, coconut oil significantly increases LDL or bad cholesterol. It increases the risk of heart disease and can lead to hospitalization if left untreated for long. So, if you have any kind of heart related problem, take coconut oil only after consulting your doctor.
  3. Not beneficial in weight loss- Nowadays some people are on ketosis diet to lose weight. Coconut oil is used in this. According to experts, if you take coconut oil with plenty of water, it can be beneficial to some extent, but it is not possible to lose weight with this alone. There are many things to keep in mind to lose weight. This requires strict restrictions on food and drink. So water is more beneficial if you want to lose weight fast. So far no research has been done on coconut oil.
