Minor Earthquake Shakes Delhi and Nearby Regions

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake that rocked Faridabad in Haryana on Sunday afternoon shook Delhi and the nearby cities. The National Center for Seismology reported that the earthquake happened about 4:08 PM. It said that the earthquake’s center was 30 kilometers southeast of Delhi and nine kilometers east of Faridabad.

On Thursday, vibrations from an earthquake detected in Delhi and the nearby territories. According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), which cited by the news agency Reuters, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 rocked the Hindu Kush area of Afghanistan.

According to GFZ, the quake occurred at a depth of 189 kilometers.

Some people on social media stated that the vibrations from the earthquake could be felt in New Delhi and other regions of northern India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. The quake was felt strongly in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, as well as Islamabad. Sections of northwest Pakistan, and New Delhi, according to Reuters witnesses in each location.

There have been no reports of casualties or damage as of yet. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale struck Delhi-NCR early on Sunday.

The Delhi-NCR region experienced earthquake shocks earlier on November 12. The earthquake that struck Nepal on November 12 at 7:57 p.m. had a Richter scale value of 5.4, according to the NCS. “The depth of the earthquake was 10 km below the ground,” stated the NCS.

The National Capital Region felt vibrations as a result of an earthquake near Delhi with a magnitude of 3.1. The earthquake was 10 kilometers deep. A 6.2 magnitude earthquake that struck western Afghanistan earlier in the day caused two fatalities and more than 100 injuries.
