Big decision Currency note of Rs 2000 denomination will slowly disappear as RBI has decided to withdraw them from circulation.People who have Rs 2000 notes with them will get an opportunity to exchange the notes in any bank or deposit them in their own account from May 23,2023, onwards. In a big decision,the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced on Friday that Rs 2000 currency notes will cease to be valid tender. The central bank issued a notification clarifying the currency note with them.Individual have been exchange these banknotes in a commercial bank branch on or before September 30, 2023. The exchange facility will also be available at the 19 regional office (ROs) of RBI having Issue Department until September 30,2023, the RBI mentioned in it release. in its notification that deposit into bank account can be exchange Rs 2000 banknotes up to a limit Rs 20.2000/ at a time at any bank branch” RBI mentioned in its statement.
There will be no exchange fee for the same. Individual can avail of the exchange facility from 23,2023 and the window will be open till September 30,2023 RBI has set limit for the exchange of the note. the public can exchange Rs 2000 at a time and that could be donethrough business correspondents(BCs) up to a limit of Rs 4000/- per day for an account holder.
