Recently, it was reported that the teaser of Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Ritesh Deshmukh and Jacqueline Fernandez’s film Housefull 5 has been removed from YouTube. Now in this case, the producers have filed a defamation suit of Rs 25-25 crores against YouTube and Mofusion Studios on the copyright issue of the film’s teaser

Last week, Mofusion Studios itself had filed a copyright claim due to which the teaser was removed from YouTube. According to the latest update on this matter, rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh has reportedly given a written declaration to Housefull 5 production company Nadiadwala Grandson stating that he alone owns the rights to the song Laal Pari used in the teaser.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the singer also said that he has sold the rights to the producers of the film. Following this, notices were sent to YouTube and Mofusion Studios on May 12.
As per the information received in the case, considering it to be strong evidence, the producer has decided to take legal action. The banner’s management believes that if a copyright claim arises, the video-sharing platform should have checked with the producers. Considering that Nadiadwala Grandsons Entertainment’s channel has over 16 lakh subscribers and such allegations have never been leveled against them, YouTube did not take any laxity and straightaway removed the teaser, thereby tarnishing their image.”
Reportedly, the production house’s legal team has asked YouTube to re-upload the teaser or pay damages of Rs 25 crore. Currently, it is still available on Instagram.
