A day after chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ordered an inquiry into the school hijab row in Damoh the school held a press meeting to announce that the scarf/dupatta will not be a mandatory part of the uniform for girl students. Scarfs won’t be a must in uniform say the school Damoh collector Mayank Agrawal had asked the school management to relax the norm of compulsory wearing for girl students and not recite prayer during assembly.
The Madhya Pradesh government on Friday suspended the recognition of the Damoh School which is at the center of a controversy over allegations of non-Muslim students wearing Scarf hijabs. In a late development, an order was issued by the joint director of school education of the sugar division saying that the Ganga Jamuna school had violated recognition rules. it made no mention of the hijab controversy and said that upon inspection, it was established that several facilities mean for students were inadequate or unavailable.
National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) chairperson Priyanka Kanoon go joined the debate, tweeting the manager’s letter and claiming that Mr. Idris was lying. A related issue that has cropped up is the school’s recital of Urdu poet Muhammad Iqbal’s over-a-century-old poem titled (Lab pe aati hai dua ban ke tamanna meri.)
The issue came to light during the protest over the poster, when one of the prayers was sung before the national anthem. On Friday Damoh collector Mayank Agrawal said that from now on, only the national anthem. The new education policy which has been implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, only will be implemented. And if someone teaches something wrong in school that goes against it. force a girl to wear a scarf or other things.
