Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal started dating in 2015. It was Richa who first confessed her love to Ali who took 3 months to say it back to her. They finally made their relationship official at the Venice International Film Festival in 2017. After a dreamy proposal in 2019 in the Maldives, Richa, and Ali registered their wedding in 2020, followed by a marriage ceremony in 2022.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Richa opened up about her relationship with Ali and said that they never thought that people would be interested in their marriage at all since they both come from a regular middle-class family.
She added that partnership is the essence of any marriage and they equally share everything, right from their bills, and profits from the production house to responsibilities. When Ali is traveling, Richa takes care of the house and when she’s busy with work, Ali cleans the house.
When Richa Chadha was asked about the times when they feel like husband and wife, the actress said that she feels like she is with a playmate in class 4. There’s so much fun and laughter in the house and there are lots of visitors Richa said that’s how it should be. She feels that marriage has to be like friendship and she sees the same thing in her parents.
During the same interview, Richa was made to listen to Ali’s surprise audio message in which he spoke highly of his wife, her personality, her dedication and commitment to her work, and how she has made him a better person.
