 Rahul Gandhi Tested  Positive For COVID 19

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said he had tested positive for COVID-19.“After experiencing mild symptoms, I’ve just tested positive for COVID. All those who’ve been in contact with me recently, please follow all safety protocols and stay safe,” Mr. Gandhi tweeted.

On Sunday, the former Congress chief had announced that he would suspend his political rallies in the wake of the rapid spread of the virus and also appealed to other parties to do so. Former Finance Minister P. Chidamabaram tweeted, “Learned that Mr. Rahul Gandhi has tested positive and has isolated himself. Deeply concerned. I wish him a full and speedy recovery.”

Mr. Gandhi’s results come a day after former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had tested positive and was shifted to the trauma centre of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).Senior leader Anand Sharma also tested positive and was admitted to a private hospital in Gurugram. However, he tweeted that he was feeling better and his vitals parameters were fine.

“After experiencing mild symptoms, I’ve just tested positive for COVID. All those who’ve been in contact with me recently, please follow all safety protocols and stay safe,” the Wayanad  MP wrote on the microblogging site. In view of India’s Covid-19 situation,  for the ongoing assembly elections in West Bengal and urged others to “think about consequences of holding large rallies”.

He has now joined the list of the country’s leaders who have contracted the virus.Over the last few days, amid the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic being witnessed in the country, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Union sports minister Kiren Rejiju, Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao, and Uttar Pradesh – Yogi Adityanath.Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet said: “I pray for the good health and quick recovery of Lok Sabha MP Shri Rahul Gandhi  Ji.” Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Tuesday. The news was confirmed by Gandhi through his official Twitter handle, where he wrote he is experiencing mild symptoms. We wish him for the speedy recovery.
