Madhya Pradesh Mandu Jahaz Mahal with other 14 historical places of India. Like, the Konark sun temple, the house of our father of the nation (Mahatma Gandhi) in Porbandar, etc will remain open till 9 PM from now onwards.
Archaeological Survey of India (ASI)
ASI is the nodal body to regulate the opening and closing times of the historical place for the public. It was asking for suggestions from various departmental boards to improve tourism. As the tourism industry is booming and more needs are arising. After that, there was acceptance to open 14 historical places till 9 pm by all. So, ASI recently give the direction to apply the order.
Value of Order
Before this, there was an order to open all these places from sunrise to sunset. Due to this, a smaller number of visitors were able to visit these places. This order will increase tourist traffic as well as benefit tourism and related business. They have ensured the safety of these all places before taking any decision.
Mandu Jahaz Mahal
Mandu Jahaz Mahal is a beautiful contribution to history by Sultan Ghiyas-ud-din Khilji. It has Mughal, Afghan, Hindu and Mesopotamian styles of architectural attributes. The Royal women who belonged to the Sultanate lived here.
To attract tourists, Mandu Jahaz Mahal is lit by beautiful lights. Only this will be open till 9 pm on royal premises. In this also, tourists will not allow to step upward. In the Hindola Mahal and Champa Bawdi area, entry is not permitted after sunset. These directions are only for a few areas due to security reasons. The other part of the Mahal will remain open. Superintendent of Bhopal Indian Archaeological Survey of India, Manoj Kurmi told that “only Mandu Jahaz Mahal” in Madhya Pradesh will remain open till 9 pm. Whereas, tourists can visit only restricted areas due to security reasons at extra times. No further directions are there for City Sanchi.
