By killing three terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri town in the Baramulla district, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, according to Brigadier PMS Dhillon, commander of the Pir Panjal Brigade, on Saturday, a significant infiltration attempt thwarted.

Dhillon said that while two terrorists killed and their bodies found, a third terrorist also killed, but the body’s recovery hampered by nearby Pakistani gunfire.

“An attempt at infiltration thwarted today in Baramulla based on specific tips, in a combined operation initiated by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police. Alert troops confronted three terrorists who attempted to sneak in. The bodies of two terrorists killed and collected. The third terrorist also killed, but the body retrieval hampered by nearby Pakistani post fire. Search efforts are under progress, the brigadier announced at a news conference.

The three terrorist who slain, according to a statement from the Army, tried to sneak into Uri around 6:45 a.m. through the Hathlanga front sector.

A ferocious shootout ensued as terrorists opened fire on the Army once they spotted, according to the statement.

The authorities provided information on the operation Khanda and stated that two terrorists killed in the subsequent shootout and their remains found.

The Indian Army stated in their statement, “The army came under heavy firing across the border from Pakistan army when they were attempting to retrieve the body of third killed terrorist.”

Two terrorists killed, according to earlier statements made by Jammu and Kashmir police, and a search operation was ongoing.
