India Weather Update: The India Weather Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall for several states across the country on Saturday. It has also predicted a trough from cyclonic circulation associated with a ‘Marked Low-Pressure area’ over East Madhya Pradesh, South ect.

India Weather Madhya Pradesh is very likely to witness heavy rainfall during the next 2-3 days. Heavy downpour is likely to occur over East and West MP in the next 24 hours while extremely heavy showers will batter the Southwestern part of the state on September 16 and 17. Heavy rains are also likely in Chhhattisgarh on September 19.

The national capital is likely to witness general cloudy skies with thunderstorms or lightning at isolated places accompanied by gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) in the forenoon. The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to be around 33 and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

Himachal Pradesh:

The Met Office has issued a Yellow alert for six districts – Mandi, Bilaspur, Chamba, Kangra, Solan and Sirmaur districts. It also predicted a wet spell in the region till September 21 while the higher reaches will witness moderate rain or snowfall.

Jammu and Kashmir:

The weather office has forecast scattered light rain or thunderstorms over the Kashmir division and fairly widespread light to moderate with isolated heavy falls over the Jammu division. On Friday, the valley witnessed heatwave-like conditions.

On Friday, the top five rainfall stations across the country witnessed substantial rain. These are Barghat in East Madhya Pradesh (recorded 24 cm), Deogaon in Odisha (received 19 cm), Bijnor in West Uttar Pradesh (saw 18 cm), Champa in Chhattisgarh (measured 16 cm), and Gondia in Vidarbha (reported 12 cm of rainfall).
