 Delhi Lockdown – 6 Days Lockdown Announced by Arwind Kejriwal

Delhi will be under a six day lockdown from 10 pm tonight to 5 pm on Monday. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced today as the second and more deadly wave of coronavirus showed little signs of slowing down.

“There is a massive shortage of hospital beds, oxygen, medicines and drugs like Remedesivir ,
“Kejriwal said while announcing the lockdown. The lockdown will remain in force from 10pm tonight to 5 am till next Monday”. Government officers are allowed to travel on the production of identity card.

Delhi government offices shall remain closed. Essential and emergency services such as health and family welfare and all related medical establishments shall be allowed to function. Services such as police, prison, home guard, civil defence, fire and emergency services, district administration, pay & account office, services, electricity, water and sanititation, public transport(air/Railways/Delhi Metro/buses)will also be operational.

All private medical personal such as doctors, nursing staff, paramedical and other hospital services such as diagnostic centres, testing laboratories, clinics, pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, medical oxygen suppliers and other medical and health services shall be allowed to travel and function.

Employees of electronic and print media will be allowed to travel on production of identity
card. There shall be no restriction on inner-state and intra-state movement /transportation of
essential goods. No separate permission of essential goods. No separate permission/e-pass will be required. CM Kejriwal announces 6-day lockdown in Delhi. Religious places shall be permitted to open, but no visitors will be allowed. All private offices will go back to Work From Home mode. People exempted from restriction of movement during the curfew.

Food, groceries, fruits and vegetables shop, diary and milk booths, meat and fish, animal fodder, pharmaceuticals, opticians, medicines and medical equipment, newspaper distribution will be open. Telecommunication, internet services, cable services, and IT enabled services. Petrol pumps, LPG, CNG< petroleum and gas retail and storage outlets. Water supply, power generation, transmission and distribution units and services, cold storage and warehousing services.
