Many non muslims have many doubts regarding Islam as it is the most misinterpreted religion in the world. In this article, we would focus on most frequently asked questions regarding Islam.

1.What is the proof of the authenticity of the Quran?

Muslim historians and scholars describe the history of the Quran and the efforts of the Muslims since the early days of Islam to preserve the Quran in it’s original form. During Prophet Muhammad’s life, scores of people memorized, recited and wrote down the Quran. After the death of Prophet Muhammad, Quran was compiled and transcribed by experts who carefully verified every verse by matching it against the written word and the memorized verses. The completed transcript was then copied and distributed throughout the growing Islamic empire. These copies served as the basis for all copies for Quran written or printed since. Today these earliest written versions of Quran are identical to contemporary copies of the Quran. While translations of the Quran may vary, all copies of the Quran contain nearly identical language. This standardization, coupled with the millions of people who continue to memorize the Quran, ensure the text’s authenticity.

2.Are there any verses of Quran or Prophetic sayings that address the issue of womens’ rights?

Yes, there are many verses regarding womens’ rights including:

Right to inherit: ”For men is a share of what the parents and close relatives leave, and for women is a share of what the parents and close relatives leave, be it little or much-an obligatory share”. (Quran 4:7)

Rights Of A Daughter: ”Whoever has a daughter and does …. not insult her, and does not favor his son over her, God will make him enter into paradise. (Hadith)

3.How does Islam view domestic violence?

Domestic violence and spousal abuse violate Islamic principles of security, safety and respect for human dignity. The biographies of Prophet Muhammad record him as never having hit a woman or even a child and condemning those who do it.

4.What is a fatwa?

Fatwa is an arabic term which means a ruling or legal opinion deduced by a qualified Islamic scholar on issues regarding Islamic law generally were not decided before.

5.What is Halal?

Halal is an arabic word meaning permitted or allowed.
