Ashwin takes break from the IPL-2021
Indian cricket team player and senior off-spinner R Ashwin has taken break From the present ongoing IPL 2021. he wants to be together with his family during covid 19 pandemic.
“I would be taking an opportunity from this year’s IPL from tomorrow. My family and my relatives are putting up a fight against covid19 and that i want to support them during these tough times,” he twitted after his franchise defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad within the super over MA at the Chidambaram stadium on Sunday night.
Delhi Capitals off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin taken an opportunity from 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). he can be returning range in Chennai, where he played his side’s last game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The 34-year-old is competing for the Delhi Capitals this season and hopes to return to the side “if things enter the proper direction”.
It is said that close member of his family has tested positive for the corona virus.
His franchise promised full support to him during a twitter post of its own.
Ashwin will need to be in quarantine for a few days if he decides to return back and compete, which might also impact his availability going forward within the tournament.
In an earlier tweet, Ashwin had expressed concern about the pandemic ravaging the country immediately .
“Heart breaking to ascertain what’s happening around my country! i’m not within the healthcare fraternity, but my sincere gratitude to every of them. i might also wish to make an earnest appeal to each Indian to exercise caution and stay safe,” he had said.
India is recording over 3 lakh daily cases for the past few days and therefore the health infrastructure is struggling to handle the increase with a shortage of oxygen and a few crucial medicines adding to the crisis.
